Difference Between Bisexuality and Threesome

These two terms, bisexuality, and threesome are commonly confused in most circumstances. The confusion mainly arises since a threesome can involve sexual activity between all sexual orientations including bisexuality, provided the number of people involved is three. Despite the fact that bisexual intimacy can be manifested in a threesome, what is the difference between bisexuality and threesome?

A threesome is a sexual activity involving three people at the same time. The number of individuals participating in the sexual activity has to be three to qualify for the term threesome. It could be a man and two women, a woman and two men, three women, three men; in simple terms, the people involved in a threesome may have any combination of gender and sexual orientation. Besides, a threesome can also allude to a three-way romantic relationship or a love triangle. It can be found in long-term domestic relationships like polyamory (intimacy involving individuals with more than one partner, with the knowledge and approval of all partners). A threesome can be practiced in a casual sexual activity, maybe three friends or in anonymous settings, such as orgies or sex parties. 

However, bisexuality is the sexual or romantic attraction to two genders, specifically males and females. The term bisexuality often denotes romantic feelings to both men and women. The sexual orientation of a bisexual falls along a continuum. In other words, a bisexual doesn’t have to be exclusively gay or straight but can feel varying degrees of both. Bisexuality is a sexual orientation that develops across a person's lifetime; people realize at different points in their lives that they are bisexual.

Apparently, from the two definitions, it is clear that unlike threesome, which is a casual sexual activity involving three people, bisexuality is a sexual orientation. A person can claim that his or her sexual orientation is bisexuality, But no one can argue that he or she is sexuality oriented to have threesome sex.
